Robert "Cobbs" E. Conroy

Robert E. "Cobbs" Conroy passed away March 19, 2020 at his home in Cozad at the age of 62. Bob was born November 29, 1957 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Laurence and Helen (Ferguson) Conroy. He graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1976. Bob earned his plumbing and HVAC degrees at Southeast Community College at Milford, Nebraska. He worked for 3 years in Lincoln before moving back to Cozad and working at P.E.W. Services. He married Marci (Loibl) Conroy in November of 1983. He later began working in maintenance at Southview Manor Care Home for over 25 years, until his health declined. Bob loved the residents and listening to their stories. He was a former member of the Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, a long time member of the Cozad Elks Lodge #2250, Past Exalted Ruler and long time Trustee. Bob enjoyed bowling in his younger years, being part of the softball community and attending events of his grandkids as his health allowed. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and eldest brother. Survivors include his children, Amber (Jay) Guerra of Cozad their children Gavin, Grayden and Gretchen, Brandon (Kelly Korgel) Conroy of Kearney and children Braiden and Brinley, Brooke (Derek) Wolfe of Cozad and their children Kori Jean and Dean; siblings, Jim (Jane) Conroy of Navarre, FL, Pat (Bill) Richter of Lincoln, Colleen (Tim) Gill of Lincoln and Charlie Conroy of Cozad; special friend, Rhonda Schroeder of Cozad; and numerous relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to the family in his name for later designation. Private family burial will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Eddyville, Nebraska. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
