Reva M Nichols

Reva M. Nichols of Cozad passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 87. Reva was born August 2, 1931 at Primrose, Nebraska to Frank and Eunice Kraus.  She grew up in and attended school at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. In August of 1948, Reva married her husband of 65 years Leon Nichols. The couple lived in Belgrade, Nebraska before moving to Cozad in 1950. Three children were born to this union, Ginger, Douglas and Dallas. Reva loved to cook. She was a cook at Cozad High School for 6 years and head cook at Cozad Grand Generation Center for 8 years before retiring in 1997. Reva was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed having her family close. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ginger Nelson; and 2 brothers, Ron (Judy) Kraus and Bill (Nora) Kraus. Survivors include her sons, Doug (Sally) Nichols of Kearney and Dallas (Jan) Nichols of Cozad; 7 grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Fairchild of Spokane, WA, Scott Fairchild (Lisa) of Sheridan WY, Shannon (Jeff) Anderson of Centennial, CO, Shiloh (Josh) Martinez of Bailey, CO, Collin (Kate) Nichols of Kearney, Brandee (Dave) Schram of Hastings, and Jeff (Rosann) Nichols of Elkhorn; 18 great grandchildren, Geordon, Jaiden, Jazmyn and Jillian Fairchild, Case and Siahna Anderson, Charlee Martinez, Carson, Kyler and Corinne Nichols, Haley, Brayden and Zach Schram, Katie, Grace and Luke Nichols, and Izaiha and Elijah Fairchild; son-in-law, Kevin Nelson of Banner, WY. Services will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 1 pm to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 4 pm to 6 pm at Berryman Funeral Home.  Memorials can be directed to the family in her name for later designation.
