Phyllis J. Jensen passed away June 9, 2018 at her home at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad at the age of 88. Phyllis was born February 6, 1930 in Marion, Kansas to Willard and Helen (Richmond) Suffield. The family lived on a farm northeast of Marion until it was taken by a tornado. They moved to Wichita for a couple of years, but were happy to move back to Marion in 1945. Phyllis was a Drum Majorette during her senior year at Marion High School. She graduated with the class of 1947. In 1948, she married Fred Allen. They eventually moved to Manhattan, Kansas where she worked at Crums Beauty Academy and then to Topeka and opened a shop in her home. Following her divorce, Phyllis moved to Norton and worked for the State, inspecting beauty shops in Kansas. She decided to settle down and moved to Cozad. Phyllis met Harlan Jensen and were married on February 14, 1992 at the Cozad United Methodist Church. They enjoyed traveling to Wyoming, O'Neill and Topeka to see family and watch great grandchildren participate in school activities. Phyllis was a longtime member of Order of the Eastern Star in Marion and Cozad. She held many offices and was Worthy Matron in Cozad. Phyllis received 25 and 70 year pins from the Order. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and daughter, Coni Bratton.
