Maxine M. Klein of Cozad passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at Summer Place Nursing Home in Lincoln at the age of 97. Maxine was born March 12, 1923 at Hastings, Nebraska to Henry and Doris (Ronnfeldt) Boudreau. Her family moved to Cozad in 1932 where she graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1941. Maxine married Jacob Klein on December 1, 1942 in Cozad, Nebraska while he was home on furlough. Maxine worked at Armour & Co until 1945 and then in 1960 went to work as a secretary at the Cozad Medical Clinic. She retired in 1993. She was a member of Cozad United Methodist Church and was in the Leah Circle Women's Society. She also volunteered at 100th Meridian Museum, Thrift Shop, Red Cross Bloodmobile and was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. Maxine was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jacob Klein and infant sister. Survivors include her son Bryan (Debbie) Klein of TX; 2 grandchildren, Makayla Klein of TX and Kaleb Klein of CO. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Berryman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
