Lynn R. Myers passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Emerald Care and Nursing at the age of 69. Lynn was born on September 24, 1956 to Vivan O. and Cordilla E. (Bates) Myers. He was a lifelong resident of Nebraska, starting his journey in Hastings, where he graduated high school. His career took him to several places, beginning with New Holland in Lexington, Nebraska. He then made his way to Cozad, Nebraska, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life working at Monroe Auto. After the closing of that facility, Lynn and his wife Jackie moved to Alliance, Nebraska, where he worked at BNSF.
Lynn married Sally McCoy in 1975, and together they welcomed three children: Melonie, Bryon, and Nicholas. He married Jackie Lotker on February 14, 1988, with whom he had one child, Matthew. Lynn was a loving father, stepfather and husband always cherishing the moments spent with his family.
In addition to his work, Lynn had several hobbies that brought him joy. He loved fishing and showing dogs with Jackie and spending countless hours outdoors working on their acreage northeast of Cozad. He also had a passion for classic cars and was known for his impressive collection of Hot Wheels cars.
Lynn was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his love for his interests, his faith and his occasional dry humor.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jackie; sister Maxine Sandoe; brother Lyle Myers; granddaughter Adeline Lotker and brothers-in-law, Dean Marshall and Lloyd Sandoe and sister-in-law, Linda Myers.
Survivors include his children, Melonie (Roger) Perez of Cozad, Bryon (Shannan) Myers of Cozad, Nick Myers of Cozad, Matthew (Jordan) Lotker of Cozad; Eustacia (Dustin) Drake of Waco, Thomas (Danielle) Wasson of Oberlin, KS; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Iverna (Bob) Briggs of Grand Island, Cleta Marshall of Wichita, KS; and brother, LeRoy (Linda) Myers of Lincoln.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. A Celebration of Life with family present will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cozad Elks Lodge.
