With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynn Marie Griffis, aged 62, of Lexington, KY, who departed this world on March 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished forever.

Born on December 12, 1961, Lynn was lovingly adopted by Elton and Adelle Griffis of Cozad. Growing up alongside her brother, Steve, Lynn enjoyed a vibrant childhood filled with cherished memories shared with her Miller cousins during holiday gatherings, where laughter and a touch of mischief were always present. Summers were particularly special to Lynn, as she dedicated her time to serving as a camp counselor, where she nurtured the hearts and minds of young campers with her warmth and guidance.

After graduating from Cozad High School, where she forged lifelong friendships and nurtured her passion for acting and music, Lynn pursued her academic aspirations with zeal. She earned her MA in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN, followed by a Master of Divinity from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. Lynn's dedication to serving others led her to a fulfilling role as an AJOS Minister Chaplain in San Francisco from 1988 to 1989.

Lynn later crossed paths with the love of her life, Kay Cannon. They were married on April 4, 2018, and together they built a life in Lexington, Kentucky, defined by unwavering love, shared laughter, and the companionship of their beloved furry friends. Lynn's deep affection for her niece and nephews, Cory, Kylee, and Cameron, as well as her great niece and nephew, Beau and Dru, was evident in every interaction.

In addition to her brother and immediate family, Lynn also had biological family members, whom she connected with later in life, deepening their bond and enriching her family connections.

A vibrant soul with a passion for creativity, Lynn found solace and joy in crafting artwork from glass and rocks. Her keen eye for beauty manifested in simple moments of wonder, whether admiring a breathtaking sunset or marveling at the world's intrinsic beauty. As the proud owner and operator of Flatwater Spirit Studio, Lynn poured her heart into her artistry, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and inspiration.

Lynn is survived by her brother, Steve Griffis and his wife Julie, her niece and nephews, Cory, Kylee (Burke), Cameron (Natalie), and her great niece and nephew, Dru and Beau Lienemann. She is also remembered fondly by her extended family from the Miller lineage.

In the embrace of eternal peace, Lynn is reunited with her beloved parents, Adelle and Elton Griffis, and her cherished spouse, Kay Cannon. May her spirit live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.

As Maya Angelou once said, 'I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.' Lynn's ability to touch the hearts of those around her will be a lasting legacy that continues to inspire and uplift."

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Kentucky S.A.V.E animal rescue, a cause that Lynn and Kay were passionate about. Any contribution will honor Lynn's memory and support a cause that was dear to her heart. Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kathy Guundell officiating.
