Kay Marie Griffis

Kay Marie Griffis of Cozad passed away October 6, 2025 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 63. She was born April 16, 1962 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Jack and Mary (Gentry) Griffis. She grew up in Gothenburg, where she enjoyed riding bikes and going swimming with her siblings and friends. As she got older she loved to cook, bake and collect VHS movies. She would help anyone out in need if she could including each of her five siblings. She loved being with family and friends, especially her one and only grandson Preston. She really wanted to see Preston graduate in May next year, but with her battling cancer and other health issues, God called her home too soon. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary (Gentry) Griffis. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Huffman and Casandra Huffman, both of Broken Bow, NE; grandson Preston of Broken Bow, NE; sisters, Donna (Keven) Stuck of Powell, WY and Catherine Griffis of Broken Bow, NE; brothers, Mark (Barb) Griffis of Gothenburg, NE, Jerry Griffis of Kearney, NE and Matthew Griffis of Broken Bow, NE; numerous nieces and nephews.
