Jane C. Rupe passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her home in Eustis, Nebraska at the age of 85. Jane was born on August 20, 1939, in Lexington, Nebraska to Christian and Martha (Fasse) Toberer. She graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1957 and went on to earn her teaching certificate from Kearney Teaching College. Jane lived a life dedicated to teaching, music, and her community. She married Dennis Rupe in 1960. Their union was blessed with 2 sons, Scott and Shannon.
For many years, Jane taught second grade in Eustis, inspiring young minds with her passion for education. After giving up her position in grade school, she continued to share her love of music by offering piano lessons, helping her students develop their skills. She particularly enjoyed taking her piano students to the Lions Competition, encouraging them to grow in their musical knowledge.
Jane's dedication extended beyond the classroom. She was a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she played the organ regularly. Her commitment to her church was unwavering; she selflessly gave up many personal things in her life to play for church services, weddings, and funerals. Jane even expressed that if she could, she would have played for her own funeral.
She took great pride in her students, playing piano at school music programs and celebrating those who advanced to district and state competitions. Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and would go out of her way to do everything she could for them. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Arlene Klein; infant sister, Carolyn; and brother, Gene Toberer. Survivors include her husband, Dennis of Eustis; sons, Scott (Jodi) Rupe of Eustis and Shannon (Julie) Rupe of Eustis; grandchildren, Calvin (Amber) Rupe of Blue Hill, Joleen (Anson) Hueftle of Elkhorn, Hayden (Taylor Buescher) of Eustis, Jacob (Sadie Fales) of Eustis; great grandchildren, Landry, Jensyn, Leighton, Jarrett; and sister, Sharon (Norm) Naylor of Lexington.
