James David Dorsey

James D. Dorsey of Cozad passed away October 5, 2018 at the Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 76. James was born June 2, 1942 in Eaton, Colorado to James and Nanai (Ruthford) Dorsey. He graduated from Eaton High School joined the US Navy. James worked for many years as a cook at restaurants in Greeley, Colorado. He eventually settled in Cozad, Nebraska following health issues. James was a loving and caring person and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lacey Dorsey. Survivors include his siblings, Rose (Bill) Herman of Parachute, CO, Velva Waltz of Evans, CO and Terry Dorsey of Greeley, CO; former spouse, Marjorie Dorsey of Pensacola, FL; stepson, Samuel Baylie of North Platte, NE and many nieces and nephews. James chose to be cremated. There will be no services. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
