Jacqueline M. Neill

Listen to Obituary

Jacqueline Mae Neill of Cozad passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad at the age of 98. Jacqueline was born in Hebron, Nebraska on October 7, 1927 to Wilbur and Ida Beisner. She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1946.

On August 30, 1947, she married Harold Neill at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Harold was 21, Jackie was 19. In March 1949, Jackie became a mother to Roger, born in Scottsbluff. Later, David was born in 1954 in Pawnee City, followed by John, born in 1955 in Hastings, Patrick, born in 1958 in Alma and Michael was born in 1962 in Alma. Harold and Jackie’s family grew when they took in Jackie’s cousins, Wade and Eric Beisner. With Harold traveling for work, Jackie was the sole housekeeper, cook and disciplinarian Monday through Friday, and she did every job perfectly.

In the fall of 1970, the Neill family moved to Cozad. Jackie ran The Cozad Racquet Club for Ike Paulsen for many years. Besides tennis, Jackie enjoyed playing golf (starting at age 60), P.E.O., doing needlework and cross-stitch, playing cards, taking trips with her friends and volunteering at the church. Jackie was an avid sports fan and loved watching all the boys participate in various sports. She loved hosting Husker football games on Saturdays with a wonderful meal served beforehand. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed all the holidays, especially Christmas, with a large family gathering.

In November 2021, Harold passed away at age 96 and Jackie willingly moved to Meadowlark at that time. Even though she lost a few sparkles in her eyes, she embraced her new life as a widow and thoroughly enjoyed her time at Meadowlark. She spoke of Harold often, usually saying, “He was such a good provider.”

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Neill; her parents, Wilbur and Ida; sisters, Marilyn and Janice; brothers-in-law, Dean, Kenny and David; and sister-in-law, Doris Sherer.

Jackie is survived by her brother, John (Char) Beisner of Ames, IA; sister-in-law, Mary Neill of Pawnee City; her sons, Roger (Glenda) Neill of Cozad, Wade (Diane) Beisner of Orleans, David (Patti) Neill of Cozad, Eric (Diana) Beisner of Hastings, John (Marsha) Neill of Omaha, Patrick (Denise) Neill of Kearney and Michael (Debbie) Neill of Cozad; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Home Health and Hospice or Cozad United Methodist Church.  A memorial service will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Bellarmee Milosi officiating.
