Evelyn Rose Davis, 90, of Farnam, NE passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad, NE. 

Evelyn was born August 29, 1933 at Farnam, Nebraska to Robert and Freda (Thumm) Zeeh. 

She graduated from Farnam High School in 1950. She attended and received her Teaching Certificate from Kearney State Teachers College and taught country school for a short time.  Evelyn married C. Kent Davis on October 18, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. While Kent was serving in the Navy they resided in Norfolk, VA then returned to Farnam. The couple was blessed with 4 children, Gary, Marcia, Karen, Carson. She spent her time as a busy farm wife, mom, and by keeping books for the well repair business they started in 1956. She loved being a grandma!!, gardening, genealogy, reading and watching Husker Volleyball. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards and games. She enjoyed baking, with pretzels being a family favorite. Evelyn volunteered at the Senior Center, belonged to Ladies Auxiliary, HOP Club, U & I Club, Farnam Library board member, and lifelong member at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kent in 1994; infant brother, Kenneth Wayne Zeeh; brother, Bob Zeeh; in-laws, Charley and Elsie Davis; sister-in-law Jeweldine (Orville)  Gaibler; brothers-in-law Russ Williams; Glen (Betty) Davis. 

Survivors include her children, Gary (Brenda) Davis of Farnam, Marcia (Scott) Adkisson of Cozad, Karen (Mark) Ferrell of Eustis, Carson Davis of Gothenburg; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild including Michele (Mitch) Arnold of Kearney and their children, Logan, Huston, Bronson, Bentley; Grant (Sandra) Davis of Dannebrog and their children, Brady, Sydney, Kennedy; Sarah (Erik) Petr of Hastings and their children Dylan, Ansley Taylor; Wendy (Todd) Clabaugh of Elm Creek and their children, Brooke (Riley) Nichols and their son Asher; Gage Clabaugh; Christopher (Kelly) Adkisson of Kearney and their children, Bailey (Zach) Jackson, Gannon, Pfeiffer, Ledger C.; Lindsey (Tyler) Kugler of Johnson Lake and their children, Kamden, Kollin, Kade; Ashley (Carson) Bellamy of Eustis and their daughter Avery; Shelby Ferrell and fiancée Matt Swan of Laurel, MT; Jaiden Davis of Lincoln, Jonathan Davis of Gothenburg; sister-in-laws, Willa Zeeh of Salt Lake City and Charlot Williams of Elwood; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Farnam Senior Center. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Berryman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
