Dorothy Dee Henry

Dorothy Dee Henry of Cozad passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Mount Carmel Home in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 90. Dorothy was born on August 30, 1935 at Sargent, Nebraska to Cloyd and Mary Patterson. She graduated from Hastings High School in May of 1953 before furthering her education at the Grand Island Business School.

She married Kenneth Henry on February 20, 1968, and together they shared many wonderful moments, including their love for going to the horse races. They moved to Cozad in 1975, where they built their life together.

Dorothy worked at Evan's Bakery in Cozad for over 20 years, where she was known for her dedication and warm personality. Dorothy had many interests, which included watching her favorite shows like The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars, as well as cheering on Nebraska and Eagles football teams. She also cherished the times spent shopping and dining out with her friends and family. Since 2020, Dorothy lived at Mount Carmel Home in Kearney, Nebraska, where she thrived and enjoyed the company of the staff and other residents. She loved participating in activities like bingo, listening to live music, and sitting on the porch with a Coke in hand.

One of Dorothy's proudest accomplishments was taking care of her parents in her home for many years, showing the love and devotion that defined her life. Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the joy she brought to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; son, Bruce Baker and daughter, Mary Brown. Survivors include her children, Mike (Tammie) Henry of WY and Michelle (Don) Hyde of IN; grandchildren, Billy Brownell, Glenn Brown, Karmyn Graber, Ray Ramirez, Michael Henry, Sabrina Pilcher, Jeffery Henry, Willow Henry and Chris Hyde; great grandchildren, Dylan, Zaaven, Zayana, Leeum, Jaxson, Noah, Brantley and Hunter.

Memorials are suggested to Mount Carmel Home, 412 W 18th St, Kearney, NE 68845. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Berryman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery.
