Dora Marie Lenz

Dora Marie Lenz of Cozad passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Bluehill, Nebraska at the age of 56. Dora was born on November 4, 1968, in Lexington, Nebraska to Henry and Carolyn (Allen) Lenz. She grew up with a love for her family and a deep appreciation for all creatures, although she had an unusual aversion to pigs. Dora graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1987, a moment that marked the beginning of her life's journey. Following her graduation, she moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, to serve as a nanny for a family. This experience brought her great joy and allowed her to showcase her nurturing spirit.

For several years, she worked as a security guard for Per Mar Security Services at Tenneco Automotive in Cozad. She also held positions at a couple of gas stations, showcasing her strong work ethic and dedication to her job.

Dora had a warm and caring personality; she was known to be a wonderful daughter, sister, and aunt. Family meant everything to her, and her love for them was evident in all she did. Outside of work, Dora found joy in her hobbies and interests. She had a fascination with dragons, enjoyed reading, and spent her leisure time hand embroidering. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, her devotion to family, and her unique interests that brought joy to those around her.

Dora was preceded in death by her father Henry Lenz and brother George Lenz. Survivors include her mother Carolyn Lenz of Cozad; her brother Henry (Jessica) Lenz and their daughters Emily Lenz and Allison Lenz of Riley, KS; her sister Anita (Roy) Dewey and their daughters Amelia Dewey and Cassandra Dewey and her son Haven of Cozad.

Dora's wishes were to be cremated, burial will be private. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
