Dennis “Beeny” V. Beenblossom passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at his home in Gothenburg at the age of 80. Dennis was born May 5, 1944 in Lexington, Nebraska to Delpha and Florence (Weible) Beenblossom. He married Lila Carr on December 16, 1962 at the Methodist Church in Cozad. Their union was blessed with 3 children, Kandy, Jim and Denise. He worked at the hay mill and Monroe Auto in Cozad. They moved to Kearney and he went to trade school in Kansas City to learn auto body. They moved back to Cozad where Dennis went to work at Ford Garage in Gothenburg for many years. They moved to Gothenburg to raise their family and purchased Top Notch Radiator in 1970. Dennis enjoyed old cars and he and Lila both loved to drag race. They lived at Jeffrey Lake for several years. Dennis loved the lake house and lake life, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Claude Tappan; sister Jackie Meier, brother Thomas Beenblossom, Granddaughter LeAnn Beenblossom, great granddaughters Lilly Jean Romero and Isabel Phelps.
Survivors include Wife (Lila), children Kandy (Tony) Pflaster of Cozad, Jim (Michelle "Moe") Beenblossom of Gothenburg, Denise (Tom) Reichert of Kearney, grandchildren Dusty Romero of North Platte, Lindsey (Mark) Phelps of Callaway,
Ozzie (Liz) Romero of Cozad, Adrienne (Ryan) Rahmann of Kearney, Tarina (Kristina Brandon} Beenblossom of Gothenburg, Triteny (Levi) Schmeeckle of Cozad, Tysen (Kelsey) Werner of Cozad, Eli (Lexi Anderson) Werner of Rock Port TX, Great grandchildren, Emmett, Brecken, Khayden, Kelseigh, Ozzie Jr "Zie", Maya, Kyndell, Quinn, Otto, Inley, and Winston. Brothers Doug and Randy Beenblossom, sister Rhonda and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The Beenblossom family has requested a Celebration of Life be held in Dennis’s honor as opposed to a traditional funeral service. We request all of Dennis’s loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the commons area at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
