Deloris Mae Palmer

Deloris M. Palmer of Cozad passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Emerald Care in Cozad at the age of 90. Deloris was born June 10, 1932 at Mounds, Oklahoma to Ernest and Anniebelle (Ritchie) Alspaw. Her mother passed away when she was 5, her father married Mary Ella when she was 10. They moved to Bakersfield, California in 1944 where she worked at Dairy Delight and then Fosters Freeze for 25 years. Deloris married Oscar Palmer in Bakersfield in November of 1959. Their union was blessed with two children, John and Jennifer. She and Oscar moved to Cozad in 1994. Deloris loved being a mother. She raised 3 generations, her siblings, her children and her grandchildren. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar; brothers John, Dale, Dan and Ernest; sisters, Doris, Doreatha and Anniebelle; and grandson, Connor Sheldon. Survivors include her son, John (Gloria) Palmer of Cozad; daughter, Jennifer (Clint) Sheldon of Hot Springs, SD; grandchildren, Mikal and Megan Duncan, Hannah and Matt Thomas, Brad and Brittany Hild, Adam and Jodi Hild, Sarah and Kerstan Richmeier, Terri and Shawn Barry, Gerry and Chuck Taylor; great grandchildren, Schuyler, Alexis, Braiden, Dallas, Kyauna, Janessa, Kenzi, Alana, Klara, Maysen, Kaylee and Bentley; great great grandchildren, Elijah and Charlie; brothers, Darrel Alspaw and Duane Alspaw of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Diane Watkins and Darlene Butler of Bakersfield, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Harvey Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE. Visitation with family present will be Sunday, February 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
