Cathryn C. Hoselton

Cathryn Colleen Hoselton, 81, of Eustis, died June 28, 2021 in Cozad. Cathryn was born September 14, 1939 in Onawa, Iowa to Melvin and Clara (Martz) Gries. She was the oldest of five children. Cathy was a very loving and sensitive person. She loved everyone she met and everyone was always welcomed in her home for meals or beds. Her church was an important part or her life and her faith carried her through many hardships and heartaches. Family was one of the most important things in her life. Cathy graduated from Lexington, NE high school in 1958. She went to work for Wheelers Chevrolet as a bookkeeper until she met the love of her life, Jim Hoselton. They married on November 16, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in Lexington. This marriage was blessed with 3 children, Zane James, Patricia Lynn, and Craig Edward. She was a CNA med aid at the Elwood Care Center for many years. When she retired she started cooking at the Eustis Senior Center. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, baby brother Edward, sister Elsie, and her mother-in-law Marie and father-in-law Art. She is survived by her husband Jim of 58 years; her children Zane of Eustis, Patricia (Larry) Elwood of Lincoln, NE, and Craig (Marty) of Omaha, NE, Frank (Susan) Strong of Eustis, NE, sister Linda (Don) Jones of Cozad, NE; brother, Larry (Leslie) Gries of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, Kay (Jerry) Quinn of Oxford, NE; 3 grandchildren, Brandon (Kate, fiancé) Spanjer of Crete, Madalyn (Kyle, friend) of Lincoln, NE, Tiarah Of Omaha; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Memorials are suggested to the Eustis Senior Center. Services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church.
