Bernadine M. Dytrych passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 90. Bernadine, better known as “Bonnie”, lived a long and full life. She was born December 12, 1931 in Fremont, Nebraska to Ben and Irma (Ruwe) Lahmann. There were four children, Vernetta, Bonnie and the twins, Eduard and Wilma. Bonnie graduated high school from Dodge, Nebraska and married Stanley Dytrych of Clarkson, Nebraska. They added 5 children to their family, Pat, Dave, Russ, Mike and Karen. Most of her working years she spent as a secretary at Davis Oil, Valley Vending and as a waitress at The Dixie Inn in Cozad. She loved to read, but is well known for her crocheting, especially those “scrubbies”! Bonnie loved to travel and was able to go to Italy while son Mike was in the Air Force and to Oregon where daughter Karen lives. Bonnie’s family grew and grew to 15 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren and she knew all of their names. Bonnie was preceded in death by sisters, Vernetta Chudomelka and Wilma Griffin, and grandson, Tyson Trosper. Survivors include her brother, Eduard Lahmann Sr.; her children, Patricia Noonan, David (Tammy) Dytrych, Russell (Doris) Dytrych, Michael (Amy) Dytrych, and Karen (Oscar) Olvera; 15 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to the Cozad Grand Generation Center or Cozad Fire and Rescue. Bonnie's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Mike Pampara officiating. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
