Audrey V. Gentzler

Audrey V. Gentzler of Cozad passed away May 5, 2018 at her home at the age of 88. Audrey was born October 17, 1929 in rural Verdigre, Nebraska to Joseph and Eva (Oberle) Kukral. She graduated from High School in Creighton, Nebraska with the class of 1947. Audrey married Stanley Gentzler on June 2, 1949 at the American Lutheran Church in Creighton, Nebraska. The couple were blessed with 5 children, Deanne, Wynetta, Sandy, Dwight and Bob. Audrey enjoyed traveling with Stan. Her most treasured times were spent with family. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, decorating and reading. She loved spending time with her PEO friends, book club and playing bridge. She was an active member of the American Lutheran Church and volunteered for many organizations in the community through the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Florence Wesp and Delpha Hull and their husbands. Survivors include her husband Stan of Cozad; children, Dee (Roger) Nuss of Lee's Summit, MO, Wynetta (Terry) Headley of Omaha Sandy (Kevin) Rhone of Lincoln, Dwight (Linda) Gentzler of Lincoln and Bob (Kathi) Gentzler of Gretna; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Joan McCrary of Atlanta, GA. Services will be Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church with Vicar Kathy Gundell officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad. The casket will be closed. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 pm to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 6 pm to 8 pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
