Troy D. Hill

Troy D. Hill of Cozad, Nebraska passed away November 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 50. Troy was born August 24, 1967 in Denver, Colorado. He attended Cody-Kilgore High School and graduated from Alliance High School. Following graduation, Troy joined the U.S. Navy. Horses were his passion. He trained race horses at various tracks in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Colorado and was a ranch hand at various ranches in the Springview, Nebraska area. When Troy became ill and was no longer able to work, he moved to Cozad. Family was everything to him and he treasured time spent with his nephews and nieces. He was an excellent dancer and enjoyed playing poker and other card games. Troy loved to visit and tell stories to everyone. He will be missed by many. Survivors include his daughter, Madilynn J. Dunkel of Valentine, NE; parents, Frank and Ginger Hill of Cozad; brothers, Corey and wife Audra Hill of Park Rapids, MN and Ty Hill of Watford City, ND; sister Taunya and husband Jay Chytka of Cozad; 4 nieces and 6 nephews; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Wanda and Dale Myers and Cena and Grover Hill. Memorials are suggested to Cozad Fire and Rescue. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Eickhoff officiating. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Friday from 9 to 5 at Berryman Funeral Home.
