Arlene E. Hosick

Arlene E. Hosick of Cozad passed away August 11, 2017 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 89. Arlene was born September 30, 1927 at Cozad, Nebraska to Ralph and Metha (Broer) Buss. She attended school at District 30 and Cozad High. Arlene married Wayne Hosick on July 3, 1947 at Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple owned and operated Wayne's Farm Supply in Cozad until their retirement in 1988. Arlene was a long time member of Cozad United Methodist Church, member and past president of both the V.F.W. Auxiliary and Navy Mothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Wayne Hosick; son, Randy Hosick; 7 brothers and sisters; great granddaughter, Alicyn Grace Hosick and nephew, Marc Buss. Survivors include her daughter, Joan Edwards of Santa Maria, CA; son, Gary and wife Kathy Hosick of Cozad; daughter-in-law, Pat Hosick of Cozad; grandchildren, Troy and wife Diane Hosick of Cozad, Marc and wife Colleen Hosick of Bellevue, Jeremy Hosick of Council Bluffs, IA, Travis Hosick of Cozad and Trent and wife Elsie Hosick of Cozad; great grandchildren, Kyle, Tanner, Braxton, Wyatt, Haley, Brooke, Sydney, Kendall, Camryn, Taryn, Sadie and Darrien; great great grandson, Oliver; and a host of other relatives and close friends. Services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Visitation with family present will be Sunday from 1 to 6 at Berryman Funeral Home.
