David J. Miller

David J. Miller of Cozad passed away May 30, 2017 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 63. David was born October 19, 1953 at Fort Dix, New Jersey to David and Margaretha (Foell) Miller. He attended Lexington High School with the class of 1971. Shortly after high school, David was declared legally blind and eventually became totally blind. He spent his free time fishing and hunting. David enjoyed the beauty of nature and had a green thumb. He loved his pets, especially his cat Brutus. David loved to spend time with family and never missed family events. He was preceded by in death by his father, David Miller; brother, Robert Miller; paternal grandparents, Pete and Katherine Miller; and maternal grandparents, Jakob and Josefine Foell. Survivors include his mother, Margaretha Kloepping of Cozad; sister, Carolyn (Gayle) Wize of Willow Island; niece Kyla (Mat) Habrock of Lincoln; nephew, Nathan (Alynne) Wize of Omaha; great niece and nephew, Emy and Alex Wize also of Omaha; and many extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery near Lexington. Cremation was chosen.
