Ruby I. Bartlett

Ruby I. Bartlett of Cozad passed away February 4, 2017 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 89. Ruby was born January 27, 1928 at Kirk, Colorado to Alvin and Ruth (Brown) Hyatt. The family moved to Cozad, Nebraska when Ruby was two years old. On June 13, 1948, Ruby married Dale Bartlett at Cozad. The couple were blessed with two children, Larry and Sue. Ruby stayed at home to raise their children. Ruby was a Retail Merchandiser for the Hallmark Card Company for many years and assisted in the office at Berryman Funeral Home. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making quilts. Ruby was a faithful and devoted member of the Cozad United Methodist Church for over 40 years and was a member of the SOM Extension Club and Cozad Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kendra Aden; brothers, Paul, Robert and Charles Hyatt; brother and sister in-laws, Frank White, Irene Hyatt, Eva Hyatt, Francis Hyatt, Glenna and Vern Young, Opal and Vincent Ogersolka, Norvin Scheffler, William Peterson, Wayne and Georgia Bartlett and Lola Bartlett. Survivors include her husband, Dale Bartlett of Cozad; son, Larry (Sue) Bartlett of Lincoln and daughter, Sue (Kent) Aden of Cozad; grandchildren, Trevor (Tina) Bartlett of Lincoln, Heidi (Kirk) Allen of Bennett, Heather (Brian) Vanis of Eagle, Mandy (Doug) Abbott of Hershey, Ashley (Jay) Fuller of Kearney and Jamion (Tasia) Aden of Cozad; great grandchildren, Chase Bartlett, Creighton and Kale Allen, Cade, Kai and Crew Vanis, Rachel, Tyler, Katie and Tanner Abbott, Jayleigh and Addison Fuller, Rugor, Rider and Rhakenna Aden; brother, Leslie (Evelyn) Hyatt of Moxie City, WA; sister Ethel White of Minden; brother and sister-in-laws, Thelma Peterson of Gothenburg, Donna and Bill Laird of Cozad and Lyle Bartlett of Cozad. Memorials are suggested to the Cozad United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 8 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home.
