Sandra K. Weismann

April 11, 1946 — April 12, 2016

Sandra K. Weismann of Elwood passed away April 12, 2016 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings at the age of 70. Sandra Kae (Von Loh) Weismann was born April 11, 1946 at Brewster Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska to Aaron "Melvin" and Doris (Kehr) Von Loh. Sandra was baptized on June 23, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed on June 5, 1960 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, both in Bertrand. Sandra was raised on a farm north of Bertrand. She took pride in helping her parents with the day to day operations of the farm. She especially enjoyed working with livestock, operating machinery and irrigating. Her love for farming led her to many Ag related opportunities throughout her life. Sandra began her education at country school and went on to graduate from Bertrand Community Schools in 1964. After graduation, she moved to Lincoln where she worked at the Nebraska State Capital. She then returned to the area and became Deputy County Clerk at the Gosper County Courthouse. She was later employed by Elwood Vet Clinic, Scoular Elevator and Tri-Co Farm Service. Sandra also served the church as a secretary, Sunday school teacher and mid-week teacher over the years. On January 13, 1968, Sandra was united in marriage to James Weismann and to this union two children were born, Nicole and Andrew. The family made their home in Elwood, where Sandra and her husband James operated the family collision repair business, J&S Star Automotive. Throughout the years they were also actively involved in farming and raising livestock. Sandra always encouraged her family to put God first in their lives. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and taking care of her yard. Her most important activities, however, were being a loving wife, mother & grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than spoiling her husband, children & grandchildren. She loved attending music programs, church programs, sporting events and all of her family's various activities with her husband James. A memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Donnoe; mother and father in-law, Albert and Caroline Weismann. Survivors include her husband, Jim of Elwood; daughter, Nicole (Stacy) Nickell of Smithfield; son, Andrew (Robyn) Weismann of Gibbon; grandchildren, Kallen and Kaden Nickell, Matthew and Tyler Weismann; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood with Pastor Michael Wolff officiating. Burial will be at the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
