Robert 'Bob' G. Cornelius

Robert G. 'Bob' Cornelius of Cozad passed away April 7, 2016 at the Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 82. Bob was born December 17, 1933 at Hastings, Nebraska to John and Bertha (Rothfuss) Cornelius. He graduated from Hastings College. In 1952, Bob entered the US Marine Corps. Bob married Carol Bennett in August of 1957 at Hastings, Nebraska. In 1968, Bob and Carol moved to Cozad. The couple were blessed with 5 children. Bob was a professional Engineer and developed and managed the Asphalt Department at Paulsen, Inc. for over 32 years. Bob was a visionary in building and landscaping. He was a member of the Cozad Bible Church and Cozad Elks Lodge #2250. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Al Cornelius; 4 sisters, Edna Goldstein, Frances Flynn, Clara Epley and Darlene Lowell. Survivors include his wife, Carol of Cozad; children, Jeff (Susie) Cornelius of Cozad, Dan (Derry) Cornelius of Cozad, Dave (Deb) Cornelius of Lincoln, Lisa Cornelius of Bellingham, WA, and Smokey (Deb) Cornelius of Cozad; 8 grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Brynn, Daniel, Haley, Jack, Molly and Abby; 2 great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Dodson; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to the Cozad Bible Church Building Fund or Central Plains Hospice. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor JC Calhoun officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 8 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
