Carolee R. Tilson

Carolee R. Tilson, age 72 of Omaha passed away January 22, 2016, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. Carol was born November 21, 1943 at Grand Island, Nebraska to Merle and Mary (Beyer) Page. Carol graduated from Grand Island High School with the class of 1961. She went on to earn her teaching degree from Kearney State College. On August 3, 1968 she married Robert Tilson at Grand Island. They lived in Omaha where she taught at Westside High School. They moved to Lexington in 1973 and she taught English at Lexington High School and then went to work at the Lexington Clipper Herald. In 1983, Carol and Robert moved back to Omaha. She was a freelance journalist for Midlands Business Journal and the Omaha Medical Society. She also worked for Maids International. Carol enjoyed genealogy, gardening and planting flowers. Her schnauzers, Brandy, Corbin and Jeremiah and rescue dog, Carrie, were very special to her. Through the years, she also enjoyed antiquing. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in law, Jane and Russell Tilson; and nephews, Thomas Tucker and Donald DeMoss. Survivors include her husband, Robert of Omaha; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Lola (David) Rule of LaVista, Connie (Ronald) Capron of Johnstown, CO, Cheryl (Preston) Adams of Elwood, Candice (Robert) Loghry of LaVista; brother-in-law and his spouse, Charles (Charlene) Tilson of Elwood and many nieces, nephews and extended family. A memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood with Pastor Michael Wolff officiating. Burial will be at the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 pm to 8 pm at the church in Elwood. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
