David J. Earl

David J. Earl, age 75 of Cozad, passed away November 17, 2014 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. David was born October 30, 1939 at Kearney to Francis and Doris (Flynn) Earl. David grew up in Lexington where he attended school. In 1958 David was joined in holy matrimony to Jean Sabin. David resided in Gothenburg and Lexington before moving to Cozad in 1965. In 1989 David was united in marriage to Janette Biesecker. David and Janette recently celebrated their 25th anniversary on November 16. David had a love for working on cars and was employed at Earl's Glass and Body Shop in Lexington before opening Dave's Body Shop in Cozad. David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean. Survivors include his loving wife, Janette; sister Donna Garrelts of Cozad; children, Daniel (Angie) Earl of Thedford, England, Jodie (Gary) Vinzant of Hill City, South Dakota, Brenda Fleming of North Platte, John (Beth) Earl of North Platte, Charlotte (Paul) Pentheny of Gothenburg, Paula Karas of Cozad; 15 grandchildren, Daniel, Lisa, Tara, Pamela, Tyler, Jessica, Jesiah, Stasha, Krista, Nikki, Skyler, Slater, Haile, Brock, Austin; 9 great grandchildren, Lila, Ava, Braydon, Keenan, Harper, Harlan, Alex, Bradley, and Wesley. Services will be Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Cozad. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 at Berryman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8. A memorial has been established in his memory.
