Marty J. Harris

Marty Harris, age 48 of Cozad, passed away September 1, 2014 at the Cozad Community Hospital. Born August 17, 1966, Marty was the eldest son of Dennis Harris and Linda (Catlett) Kuszak. Marty graduated from Cozad Senior High in 1985 and attended the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Always mechanically inclined, Marty was a Maintenance Technician at Baldwin Filters in Kearney, where he worked for twenty-four years. Marty enjoyed cars, American history (especially the Civil War period), the PBR and talking with his brothers. He was a hard worker and a genuine friend. Marty was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Thelma Harris of Taylor and Roy and Edythe Catlett of Broken Bow. Marty is survived by his parents, Dennis Harris and Linda (Al) Kuszak of Cozad; two brothers, Chris (Tara) Harris of St. Louis, MO and Shawn Harris of Cozad; one nephew, Parker Harris; and a large extended family. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ on Newell in Cozad with Pastor James McCrickard officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com.
