Mary Lou Kuhlman, age 86 of Cozad, Nebraska passed away March 3, 2014 at Meadowlark Pointe Living Center. She was born May 16, 1927 at Cozad Ne to Paris Cadet and Audrey (Dawson) York. Mary Lou graduated from Cozad High School in 1945. She moved to California and married John Henning. To this union they had a son, Michael John. After John’s death in 1949 they moved back to Cozad and lived with her parents. During that time period she met and married Robert Kenneth Hime and to this union they had two children, Nancy and Jerry. She was a member of Cozad United Methodist Church. Mary was a busy homemaker until Bob’s death in 1967 at which time Mary Lou enjoyed working at the Tri City Tribune. On July 10, 1970 she married Herbert Joseph Kuhlman and lived in Cozad until 1973 at which time they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where they enjoyed living for the next 37 years. Mary Lou was employed at the Maricopa County Hospital in the Administration Office. Mary and Herb enjoyed many activities playing cards, gambling, slot machines and taking trips to visit family and friends. Mary’s hobbies included crocheting, knitting, counted cross-stitch and cooking. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husbands; John, Robert, and Herbert, one son; Michael John Hime, one stepson Larry Kuhlman. Brothers; Dwight, Percy, Glenn, Warren and one sister Zoe. Mary Lou is survived by one sister, Betty Jane (Robert) Matz; her daughter, Nancy (Randall) Kopf and son Jerry Hime. Stepchildren; Janice (Larry) Knoedler, Henry (Dorothy) Kuhlman, Beverly (Dan) Bernal and Peggy (Dan) Pohlman. Grandchildren include Tiffany, Brandie, Graham, Jason, Robert, Jeffrey, Kari, Dustin, Nicholas, Michelle, Jason, Preston, Jessica, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial book signing will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.berrymanfuneralhome.com.
