Oscar O. Knoedler

Oscar O. Knoedler, age 92 of Cozad, passed away January 27, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Cozad. Oscar was born February 18, 1921, east of Cozad, Nebraska to Henry and Louise (Houser) Knoedler. Oscar attended rural school near Cozad and worked on the family farm. On February 1, 1949, Oscar married Olive "Ollie" Long at Minden, Nebraska. The couple made their home at Cozad and were blessed with 2 children, Dale and Diann. Oscar worked on the family farm for over 40 years. He continued helping area farmers and eventually went to work at the packing house at Darr, Nebraska, until retirement. Oscar was a kind, loving and hard working man and will be missed by many. Survivors include his son Dale (Cheryl) Knoedler of Ottawa, KS, daughter Diann (Don) Bruhn of Los Alamos, NM; 3 grandchildren, Dirk Knoedler, Jaime Bruhn and Gage Bruhn. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Olive "Ollie" Knoedler; 2 brothers Henry and Otto; 2 sisters Anna Turner and Martha Moore. Services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Larry Viter officiating. Inurnmant will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com.
