EDNA A. ROENFELDT Edna Roenfeldt, age 95 of Cozad, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad. Edna was born on March 8, 1917 at Tracy, Minnesota to Earl and Bessie (Tift) Arndt. She graduated from Grand Island High School in 1935. Edna married Russell Roenfeldt on August 9, 1935 at Central City, NE. Their union was blessed with 4 children, Richard, Sharon, Toby and Bob. The couple made their home in Grand Island for many years before moving to Cozad in 1977. Edna was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. While living in Grand Island the family had a cabin at Ericson Lake, which was like a sanctuary for Edna. She loved to camp and fish, and the time spent at the lake seemed to embody many of the things that she valued in life. She was a wonderful seamstress and spent much time crocheting and embroidering. Edna enjoyed time spent over a cup of coffee with friends and neighbors. She also had a love for cooking, baking and canning; which she instilled in her children and grandchildren. Edna was a member of the Parkview Methodist Church in Cozad. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1995; daughter-in-law, Nancy Roenfeldt; son-in-law, Denny Call; 4 sisters, Vera, Bernice, Betty and Joan; 2 brothers, Earl and Claude; and a brother-in-law, Corky Eleman. Edna is survived by her 3 sons, Richard Roenfeldt and special friend Ruth Kullmann of Treasure Island, FL, Toby Roenfeldt and special friend Karen Woldt, and Bob (Connie) Roenfeldt all of Cozad; daughter, Sharon Call of Douglas, WY; brother, Bob (Phyllis) Arndt of WA; sisters, June (Jim) Potts of St. Joseph, MO, Joyce Eleman of Riverton, WY; 20 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Tess Hufford officiating. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
