Theresa F. DeMaro, age 82 of Cozad, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad. Theresa was born August 1, 1930 at Omaha, Nebraska to John and Helen (Philipovich) Trouba. She graduated from St. Joseph""s Catholic High School in Omaha. On September 15, 1951, Theresa married George DeMaro at Omaha. The family made their home in Omaha for a brief time before moving to West Point. Their union was blessed with 1 son, Bruce. In 1965, the family moved to Cozad where Theresa worked at Lahr Clothing for several years. She went on to work at the Nebraska Farm Products Alfalfa Mill for over 20 years, where she handled the bookwork and payroll. Theresa was a faithful member of Christ The King Catholic Church. She lived her faith in many ways, actively serving on the Rosary Committee, Altar Society and Funeral Luncheon Committee for many years. Theresa also proudly served on the local Election Committee, where she helped organize and facilitate local voting. Theresa found great entertainment in working on Wonderword puzzles. She and George also liked playing Bingo together, travelling, and spending time with family. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Trouba; and brother-in-law, LeRoy Matthews. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, George DeMaro of Cozad; son, Bruce (Shari) DeMaro of Olathe, KS; 3 granddaughters, Taylor, Hannah and Ryley all of Olathe, KS; a sister, Mary Ann Matthews of Omaha; and several other relatives and friends. A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Mass of the Christian will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cozad with Father Don O""Brien as celebrant. A private burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Omaha. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cozad. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
