Peter J. Huber, age 85 of Cozad, passed away July 2, 2013 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad Peter was born July 10, 1927 at Savage, Montana to Theodore and Margaret (Mock) Huber, Sr. He attended District 33 School in Crane, Montana. Following his schooling, Peter served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1949. On July 16, 1958, Peter married Phyllis Peden at Elwood. The couple made their home in Cozad where Peter quickly began work at Nebraska Plastics. In the late 1960""s, Peter took a job with Monroe Auto where he remained until eventually taking a position as a crane operator with New Holland. In the late 1970""s, Peter began work with the Cozad City Schools as a janitor, retiring in the early 90""s. Peter was a hard worker his entire life. His parents were sugar beet farmers, and Peter had been accustomed to working on the farm since the age of 4. Because of his upbringing, Peter always enjoyed keeping a garden. His childhood also instilled in him a sense of appreciation for everything that he had. While material things never mattered much to Peter, he took wonderful care of everything in his possession, never taking anything for granted. Peter loved music and dancing. He was a caring and loving husband, dad and grandpa. Peter was a long-time member of the American Lutheran Church in Cozad. Peter was preceded in death his parents; brother, Joe, his twin brother, Leo, Don, and Harold; along with a sister, Viola. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Huber of Cozad; 4 daughters, daughters, Ramona (Wes) Neben of Lexington, Debbie (Jay) Smith of Hebron, Shelly Enyeart (Capri Chapman) of Holdrege, Lana (Mike) Nicolen of Holdrege; 3 brothers, Alvin Huber of Seattle, WA, Ted Huber of Great Falls, MT, Richard Huber of Billings, MT; sister, Eileen Loegering of Billings, MT, 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Home Health and Hospice in Peter""s memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Cozad with Pastor Mike Parsh officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
